Three Arrested on Weapons, Drug and Child Neglect Charges

Nebraska residents who are arrested and charged with criminal offenses may find it hard to trust in the judicial system but it is important for them to realize that an arrest does not guarantee a conviction. There are three people who were recently arrested on a variety of charges in Saunders County that need to be remembering that today.

Reports indicate that three people, including the 32-year-old mother of a 10-year-old, an eight-year-old and a toddler, have been taken into custody after a raid on their home uncovered multiple weapons and explosives along with some drugs and drug paraphenalia. The children also lived in the home but are now with their father. No details as to why the people may have had the weapons have been given.

Among the items found at the home were four explosives, two of which were in a vehicle. Officers are said to have recovered a total of 15 weapons that included one machine pistol, shotguns and rifles. One of the weapons reportedly had been defaced and no longer had a serial number on it. Charges included possession of drugs and paraphenalia, a defaced firearm, and a deadly weapon during the act of committing a felony. What penalties may be faced is not known.

At times like these, talking with an experienced criminal defense attorney may help give defendants an idea of their futures and how best to proceed with a defense.
